History

OptoMed Inc. was founded in 1990 by Dr. Shahriar Ghaffari and since that time has been one of the
leaders in technical research in aesthetic laser devices, obtaining three important patents in the area of
flashlamp and cooling technologies. In 1998, OptoMed launched a product develepment division.
Its first series of products, sold under the name of DermaCool™, provides state-of-the-art cooling
for a wide variety of laser and intense light products used in hair removal, vascular lesions,
and/or skin rejuvenation.
